This weekend in the UK many wildlife enthusiasts took part in the National Garden Bioblitz. We had 24 hours to record as many of the wild creatures and plants that we could find in our gardens! In the days that follow the sightings will be uploaded into the iRecord website and will help to provide a picture of the nation’s observations. All in all it’s great fun and is an event that can be enjoyed by everyone, from tots to serious naturalists.
The photo above is of the Blackbird, currently nesting in our Holly hedge. She’s been sitting on her clutch of eggs for a while now and we cant wait to see her chick fledge the nest in the next few weeks.
Altogether we counted almost 100 species, and hopefully, once everything is identified, we will reach that goal.
